When I first started blogging, two and a half years ago, I wasn't really into skincare. Now, I'm obsessed! I seem to have settled into a good morning and evening routine which I'm enjoying. I'm going to share my morning routine today and I'll post my evening routine next week. There are a few products that I alternate between and I have tried to include these in this post. I'm still experimenting and there are a lot of products that I want to try but for now, this is what I use in the morning and I have been using these products for several months now.
I begin by cleansing my face. For this I have been using Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. I discovered Liz Earle about 2 years ago and used their products religiously for at least a year. In November, I decided to order the Skincare Monthly Essentials (the free candle worth £32 may have swayed my decision!) and I don't know why I stopped using Liz Earle in the first place. I need to repurchase Cleanse & Polish as I'm running really low! I follow this up with a toner. I have been reaching for either Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic or The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner. Recently, it has been TBS Tea Tree Toner as I have been suffering with a really oily forehead and it contains mattifying powders which have been keeping the oil at bay all day.
I have been using eye creams for quite a few years now as I believe in preventing rather than reversing. At the moment, I'm using No7 Protect & Perfect Eye Cream. It's actually I really nice eye cream and feels super moisturising. I only have a little bit left and I would like to try something different so if you have any recommendations let me know! If I remember, I use a serum under my moisturiser. I've been using Hydraluron but I haven't noticed a difference from when I don't use it but that may be because I don't use it regularly. For my day moisturiser, I have been using Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser for Normal/Combination Skin as it sinks into my skin without being greasy but it is moisturising which is exactly what I want before applying my make up. I finish my morning skincare routine with an application of NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Balm because we can't forget out lips and this is the best lip balm I have ever tried!
When I took these photographs, I classed these products as add ons that I used maybe once or twice a week. However, I now use ESPA Balancing Herbal Spafresh Spritzer everyday, sometimes twice a day. It's so refreshing and I do find that it balances my skin. I prefer to use chemical exfoliators in the evening but if my skin feels really bumpy, I will begin the day with a gentle manual exfoliator. Two that I like to use are Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator and The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion. Both are gentle and leave my skin feeling smooth ready for make up. I also like to use a brightening mask in the mornings rather than evening. This Liz Earle Brightening Treatment Mask has the perfect texture and leaves my face with a lovely glow.
What products do you use in the morning? Do you have any eye cream recommendations?
